Edward Marsden (Eddie) Waring is best remembered the BBC’s Rugby League commentator for many years. Before this, however, he commentated for just one newsreel story, ‘ENGLAND V NEW ZEALAND TEST MATCH’ in British Movietone News No.1166A of October 1951. Later, his television credits include commentating on ‘It’s a Knockout’ in 1966 and a few appearances on ‘The Goodies’ during the 1970s.
