MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Air Cushions for All. DESCRIPTION: The Vickers VA3 is shortly due to start the first hovercraft passenger service across the Dee estuary. It will be able, when fully fitted out, to carry 25 passengers in air-cushion comfort. Seen here is the inventor of the hovercraft idea, Mr Cockerell. Next air-cushioning for farmers: a standard Land Rover, fitted with air-cushion conversion. A secondary Land Rover engine drives two centrifugal fans, which provide the lift. SHOTLIST: Key scene.
