- Description
- The body of evidence: The story of criminality is the story of identity. There was a time when obscuring the identity of the victim would ensure the killer escaped justice but the emergence of forensic science would turn the tables on the murderer. This programme examines four murders, all cases of identity. From the George Parkman killing of 1849 and forensic dentistry, to Dr Buck Ruxton and entomology in 1935, the acid bath murderer John Haigh 1948 to the advent of DNA analysis and the conviction of Colin Pitchfork in 1986. Then programme also reveals the cutting edge science that’s keeping detectives one step ahead of the criminals
