Description
Sir David Jason tells the story of how the rise and fall of women’s football was captured on film. Professional and amatueur archive reveals how a group of World War 1 munitions workers from Preston became international celebrities. Dick Kerr ladies were unofficially crowned the Women’s England football team but did their success lead to their controversial downfall? In 1921 the Football Association outlawed the women’s game, banning it from football league grounds - a ban that lasted for half a century.
