Measure for Measure

Synopsis
Gareth Lloyd Evans, Univesity of Birmingham, and Brian Morris, St David’s University College Wales, discuss the play. If this is a ‘problem play’, how do we define the ‘problem’? The speakers lay emphasis on the Duke and consider various interpretations of the play, viewing it as a drama deeply concerned with sin, expiation and redemption; and with law, guilt and public morality. Side 2 comprises readings by actors Michael Redgrave, Prunella Scales and Corin Redgrave.
