Synopsis
An edited version of Roman Polanski’s Macbeth, narrated by Orson Welles, which follows the dramatic chain of event precipitated by Macbeth’s killing of Duncan. Shakespeare’s treatment of power and corruption is related to such works as William Golding’s Lord of the Flies, Marlowe’s Dr Faustus, and Robert Penn Warren’s All the King’s Men.
