- Synopsis
- Series in which a composer and a director collaborate to devise and make an original music work for television.
1 (director: Simon Reynell; composer: James Dillon) A distorted reflection of a single moment from Shakespeare’s play THE TEMPEST, which evokes a shifting world in which the boundaries separating reality and imagination slide apart in unpredictable and sometimes threatening ways.
2 (director: Deborah May; composer: Kevin Volans): A journey encompassing barely inhabited wilderness, crowded traditional villages and the concrete and glass of the modern African city. The viewer is guided by an African dancer inspired by the animal and bird movements of traditional African dance.
3 (director: Michael Grigsby; composer: Paul Englishby): A documentary musical exploring the entertainment function of music. Features three people who share their musical aspirations and the significance of the piano in their lives and dreams.
4 (director: Jamil Dehlavi; composer: Paco Peña): An intense musical drama played out against a world of belief and superstition. Shot in Cordoba, its vivid images reflect the emotions evoked by magic. - Series
