Tempest, The

Synopsis
David Daiches, University of Sussex, and L C Knights, University of Cambridge, discuss several interpretations of the play. Against this background of critical disagreement they consider central characters, including Prospero, Ariel, Caliban and Miranda, and theatrical devices including tableau, masque and the special dramatic significance of music. Side 2 comprises readings with actors Robert Hardy, Wolfe Morris, and Alison Fiske.
