The video, with fully integrated activities, includes clips from 3 stage and film versions of the play - Laurence Olivier (1965), Orson Welles (1950) and Andrew Davies’ modern television version, (2001); critics talking about the play (Jonathan Dollimore, Sean McEvoy, Ato Quayson and Peggy Reynolds); and actors play some key scenes in a workshop.

This version is a contemporary reworking in which Othello is the new Metropolitan Police commissioner and Jago his jealous colleague. When Othello caps professional success with marriage to the lovely Dessie, Jago begins scheming against his former friend and protege. NB the full version is only available on DVD (region 1 encoded) from the USA
