Synopsis
Television documentary. A record of the English Shakespeare Company’s touring Macbeth production in Malawi under Hasting Banda’s dictatorship. The production was directed by Michael Bogdanov and played largely in open-air spaces to a non-English speaking audience. The programme is interwoven with a portrait of Malawian poet, Jack Mapanje in exile in New York.
