Synopsis
An extract from a speech made by President John F. Kennedy at a Democrat Party banquet in 1960. Kennedy expounds his belief that the current Republican administration promises action but only if it is not too controversial or complex. Kennedy quotes from King Lear in support of his conviction ‘I will do such things/What they are, yet I know not, but they shall be/ the terrors of the earth’ (II iv).
