- Synopsis
- Television variety show. The second half of the programme contains a sketch entitled ‘The life and Legend of Matt Macbeth’, by Wild Will Shakespeare, presenting Macbeth as a musical Western. Dick Bentley is Matt Macbeth dressed in full cowboy garb while Anne Shelton plays Lady Macbeth dressed as Annie Oakley; the three witches are American Indians. Macbeth kills Dick Emery’s character (not named) and his son to become Marshal. Songs are sung to such tunes as ‘Row, Row, Row’ and ‘Ragtime Cowboy Joe’.
