- Synopsis
- Matthew MacFedzean’s one-actor futuristic adaptation of Richard II drew immediate acclaim with its debut performance at the 2001 Summerworks Festival in Toronto. MacFedzean believes that Richard represents society’s ineffectualness and uses multimedia to present his critique of the mass media and capitalism. The downloadable clip from the Canadian Adaptations of Shakespeare Database shows Richie (Richard) addressing the audience, a large screen shows an interview between him and a television reporter.
