Me Quote Shakespeare?
- Synopsis
- 60-Second Shakespeare is a BBC project to encourage UK students to create their own 60-second interpretations of Shakespeare using audio, video, animation and IT skills. The poem "Me Quote Shakespeare?" is performed on stage at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. The premise is that although Shakespeare’s language may sometimes be seen as difficult or obscure, we are often quoting Shakespeare without being aware of it. The poem is performed as call and response - one person recites a line and everyone else repeats it. This allows non-speaking pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities to participate, for example by rocking, clapping or stamping, to the rhythm of the poetry. The students are seen in a series of still images with the poem recorded over them. The play title and the act from which the lines derive are shown on screen.
