Midsummer Night’s Dream, A

Synopsis
Third instalment of a five-part schools programme series that attempts to make Shakespeare accessible to children by having well-known actors comment on and perform key scenes from Shakespeare’s plays that are placed in a twentieth-century setting. This episode focuses on A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Act III, scene ii, in which Hermia, Helena and their lovers hurl abuse at one another. The scene is set not in the traditional forest but in an industrial wasteland.
