The transmission time for the episodes vary. The time given in this entry refers to the transmission of the first part of the production which TV Times still lists as "The Dread Command (Shakespeare’s Hamlet): Part One". After the first episode the broadcast is simply entitled Hamlet.
General
The BFI Special Collections holds two small pressbooks, programme notes for schools and scripts.
A recording of this was re-discovered in the Library of Congress and returned to the British Film Institute in 2010, with transmission dates here given as 22/10/1963-26/11/1963.
History
Televised in five weekly parts 26 October - 1 December 1961. Follow up to the "Dread Command" series. The adaptation was shown in the US as a single primetime programme on WNDT (NET) in the Festival of the Arts series on 19 October 1962.
