Synopsis
Arts series introduced by Alistair Cooke. The programme contained three items - a pantomime by Jean-Louis Barrault, a dramatic sketch about Shakespeare’s youth, and a re-creation of high living among the rich in the early 1900s. The Shakespeare item ‘The Boyhood of Will Shakespeare’ (lasting 30 minutes), was conceived by critic Walter Kerr, directed by David Greene and narrated by Boris Karloff.
