Synopsis
Television documentary made exclusively for BBC Knowledge. Richard Eyre examines Shakespeare’s contribution to literature and talks to renowned actors about their interpretations of his work. Peter Hall makes connections between speaking Shakespearean lines and jazz; Vanessa Redgrave recalls that she learnt to speak Shakespearean lines by listening to old 78 recordings of her father, Michael, and Dame Edith Evans playing Orlando and Rosalind in As You Like It.
