Synopsis

Television arts series presented by Barry Norman. Includes item (c12min) showing rehearsals for Act I vii of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s 1982 production of Macbeth, directed by Howard Davies - Bob Peck as Macbeth and Sara Kestelman as Lady Macbeth. This is followed by a studio discussion (c8min) of the full performance with The Guardian arts critic, Michael Billington. Barry Norman did not enjoy the production; Billington defends it but agrees that it does lack passion.
