- Synopsis
- Unedited video recording of the opening ceremony and press conference related to Shakespeare on Broadway, also known as the Belasco Project. The project was initiated by Joseph Papp to offer free productions of Shakespeare by a multi-ethnic company of actors to secondary school students in New York City. Papp makes a short speech in front of the Belasco Theatre. Afterwards Mayor Ed Koch and others speak on the benefits and aims of the project. The press conference in City Hall is led by Koch.
