With Giovanni Martinelli as Otello and Fernanda Ciani as Desdemona. Sir Thomas Beecham conducts, Robert Ainsworth is the chorus master and Charles Moor is credited as stage director

History
The live broadcast was transmitted in three parts. The introduction and Acts 1 and 2 were transmitted on the Regional programme. After a 15 minute interval, Acts 3 and 4 were broadcast on the National programme.
