- Synopsis
- Two-part television drama chronicling the later years of the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. In the theatrical DVD version there is a scene which was not included in the second part of the broadcast programme. In the deleted scene (c1.5mins), entitled ‘Essex watches Richard II’, Essex watches part of the deposition scene (IV i) and talks over it with a friend. The actor playing Richard II has not been identified but physically resembles Essex himself.
