Notes
- Notes
- In the Radio Times listings for this broadcast Robert Speaight is unspecifically credited as playing ‘Faulconbridge’. Since Dermot Cathie speaks the part of Robert Faulconbridge and Robert Faulconbridge the elder (his father) is dead at the beginning of the play, we have assumed that Robert Speaight speaks the role of Philip the Bastard, half-brother to Sir Robert Faulconbridge.
- General
- According to the programme notes in London Calling, "Mr. Farjeon had always been interested in the big figures among the secondary characters in Shakespeare’s plays. In this series he expands upon their personalities, illustrating his theories by some of the scenes in which these characters appear" (No. 302: 1945, p. 20)
