Look Both Ways
- Synopsis
- Feature film. A man is hit by a train and is killed. The event affects several characters including the train driver, a photographer and a journalist, and causes their lives to intertwine in unexpected ways. In one scene the reporter Andy (Hayes), is assigned the weekly Arts Diary and he is told to cover the press night of a production of Macbeth. Two thirds of the way through he is seen squirming in his seat, listening to the ‘tomorrow, tomorrow and tomorrow’ speech delivered by a ridiculously hammy actor in Elizabethan costume; he can take no more and rushes out. Andy loves writing ‘hard’ news and cricket and his dislike of Shakespeare symbolises the typical Aussie male.
