Synopsis
Five-part series in which Michael Kustow explores Shakespeare’s status as the world’s most popular playwright. In the fifth and final episode Kustow looks at the effect of Shakespeare in other cultures. John Barton talks about the English tradition coming into contact with other ways of performing, Michael Langham assesses his experience in the USA, and Peter Zadek an English-educated German running the Berliner Ensemble, talks about his approach to Shakespeare.
