Monday Night Clive [14/06/1999]
- Synopsis
- Chat show hosted by Clive James. Kenneth Branagh as a guest speaks of how his love of Shakespeare was formed partly by hearing Peter Sellers intoning The Beatles’s song ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ in the manner and dress of Laurence Olivier’s portrayal of Richard III. (The Sellers sketch appears in the show the MUSIC OF LENNON AND McCARTNEY, 1965 (q.v.)). Branagh gives an impression of Sellers giving an impression of Olivier. Sellers does much the better job.
