- Synopsis
- Television documentary. Derek Jacobi presents the programme which looks at the scheme to build a replica of the Globe Theatre on Bankside. Follows the early stages of the project and the activities of its founder, Sam Wanamaker, who organised an American fundraising tour to help him rebuild Shakespeare’s theatre. Contributors include Gordon Getty, Henry Moore and MP for Southwark Simon Hughes. Includes performances by Cleo Laine, Millicent Martin, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Lisa Harrow, Nicol Williamson and Michael York.
