Shakespeare Works!

Synopsis
Multimedia pack comprising a 45-minute film, an interactive presentation with 2 levels of ability, 6 multiple choice quizzes, 6 computer games, and a Teaching Shakespeare Online resource which helps develop computer literacy. The programme is broken down into six sections - Shakespeare’s Home, Audience, Theatre, Histories, Comedies and Tragedies. The film introduces the viewer to the life, time and plays of Shakespeare using a mixture of modern and traditional techniques and interpretations to demonstrate how Shakespeare has influenced modern society, culture and entertainment. Titus Andronicus is filmed like the horror film THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, Twelfth Night in the style of the American sitcom FRIENDS, and the end of Macbeth as a western shoot- out. Macbeth is also performed traditionally, with the actors hot seating each other after killing King Duncan. Aimed at teachers of 11-14 year olds (KS2 and KS3 listening and reading skills). The production has been adapted for students with learning difficulties and those for whom English is not their first language.
