Hamlet, We wsi Glucha Dolna
- Alternative title
- Hamlet in the Middle of Nowhere
- Synopsis
- Made for television film. The play is set in the late 1940s, and tells the story about an official in a small mountain village and his attempt to put on a production of Hamlet. It was interpreted as a sharp criticism of Communism as manifested through the tyranny of petty and ignorant officials, and the phrase ‘Mrdusa Donja’ entered Croatian vocabulary as a description of all the phenomena associated with it.
