Shakespearean Holiday
- Synopsis
- Part of a summer holiday series broadcast for children, this BBC radio programme encompasses ‘Songs from Shakespeare, ‘A Rustic Rehearsal’ in which Bottom et al prepare Pyramus and Thisbe for performance at court, and a documentary entitled ‘Over to Stratford-Upon-Avon’. In the latter programme presenter James Pestridge records the impressions two Midland children, aged twelve and thirteen, as they re-visit Shakespeare’s possible boyhood haunts in Stratford-upon-Avon. The programme was edited and produced by Lionel Gamlin.
