- CBC Radio series on the Stratford (Ontario) Shakespeare Festival. This episode discusses the role on women in Shakespeare’s plays. Timothy Findlay interviews Frances Hyland and Diana Maddox who play Regan and Goneril in Michael Langham’s production of King Lear currently playing in Stratford. The actresses discuss their characters, including whether a role originally written for boys portraying women limited Shakespeare’s concept of a character and whether major female roles in the plays are comparable with major male roles.
