Mysterious William Shakespeare, The

Synopsis: Talk/interview/public affairs series hosted by William F. Buckley Jr. Charlton Ogburn’s book The Mysterious William Shakespeare: The Myth and the Reality (published 1984) expounds the theory that the Earl of Oxford was the author of Shakespeare’s plays: Maurice Charney, Professor of English at Rutgers University, puts forward an opposing view believing that "Mr. Ogburn [and other Oxfordians]... don’t really like the author that they have, and want to replace him with a romantic image of what an author should be’'.
