- Television anthology arts series. This two-part edition presents a masterclass in classic drama led by RSC directors Trevor Nunn, John Barton and Terry Hands. Actors from the RSC rehearse and discuss the difficulties of practical approaches to drama and acting, especially of Shakespeare. In the second episode (16 December 1979) Patrick Stewart analyses two different performances of Enobarbus’ speech ‘the barge she sat in like a burnished throne’
and Ian McKellen describes what goes through his mind as he prepares to deliver the ‘she should have died hereafter’ speech (V v). - Series
