Stone My Heart
- Synopsis
- Videorecording of the play by Joseph McDonough and directed for stage by Edward Stern. Loosely based on Othello it is described as a stone-cold tale of love and treachery. Medical examiner Robby (Todd Lawson) has a crush on his late boss’ daughter Jessie (Lanie MacEwan). She is having an affair with the newly appointed coroner, Marcus (Kevyn Morrow), who might have landed his job because he’s African-American. That’s the claim of envious and scheming Terrence (Sean Haberle), who claims he deserved the position. McDonough asserts that people not familiar with Othello won’t be lost "But if they know the story, they’ll see where my story came from." He explains that he started with Shakespeare’s tragedy but evolved the plot and focus. "There are parallels, but not point-to-point comparisons".
