Serpent’s Tooth, The

Synopsis
Radio drama written by Sam Dann. The quotation ‘how sharper than a serpent’s tooth it is/To have a thankless child’ prefaces the programme. The story is set in 1900s Vienna where a kindly Jewish couple take in an aspiring artist (Addy) who is dying on the street. He refuses to give his name - "Didn’t Shakespeare say "what’s in a name?" and expresses his contempt for English poetry. He gets into trouble with the law but the couple continue to protect him. The twist is that Addy is Hitler who will have them killed.
