California Kid, The
- Synopsis
- Radio western series set in 1840s Texas starring Barton Yarborough as Hawk Larabee. Hawk meets a broken-down actor, Edwin Crane, in a saloon unaware that Crane is part of a plot to set up Hawk for some gunslingers. Crane delivers several faux Shakespeare lines, paraphrases, and some ‘real’ lines throughout the episode. At the end Crane begs forgiveness and Hawk replies ‘I know a little Shakespeare myself, ‘the quality of mercy is not strained’.
