Shakespeare
- Synopsis
- Radio western series, the forerunner of the well-known television series of the same name featuring Marshall Matt Dillon (William Conrad), his assistant Chester Proudfoot (Patley Baer) and Doc Adams (Howard McNear). In this episode a man is found dying of exposure by the roadside. He turns out to be Matchum, an old, hammy actor and Shakespeare devotee. Matchum’s dialogue has many Shakespearean quotations which the cowboys do not always understand, thinking that all actors talk funny like this.
