Walker

Synopsis
Biopic loosely based on the life of William Walker, an American adventurer who invaded Nicaragua in the 19th century and declared himself president. In once scene Walker and his friends watch a production of Julius Caesar being staged by members of Walker’s racially mixed army. The scene begins ‘Another general shout!' (I ii l132). Walker does not see the irony in Cassius’ lines and is seen to identify clearly with the portrait of Caesar as a’ Colossus’. For a detailed account of the scene see Richard Burt (op cit).
