Synopsis
A panel discussion about the the relationship between acting and dancing, interspersed with performances of excerpts from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and related excerpts from Kenneth MacMillan’s ballet of the same title. The debate focuses on the performer’s process as panellists from the Juilliard School and American Ballet Theatre discuss the role of movement in acting and of characterisation in dance, and the respective virtues of the voice and the body.
