Synopsis
A film tribute to William Shakespeare, made for the Overseas Departments in connection with the quartercentenary celebrations. Spoken extracts from Shakespeare works (read by Stephen Murray) are blended with images of the British countryside and London. A sequence featuring Laurence Olivier in HENRY V (1944) is included and traditional music is played on the lute by Desmond Dupre. Literary consultant is Ivor Brown.
