Macbeth the Highland King
- Synopsis
- Radio documentary. Historian Fiona Watson and literary expert Molly Rourke examine the life and reputation of Macbeth and ask how much is Shakespeare responsible for his evil reputation. They claim that the story of Macbeth was written by a Scottish monk, Andrew de Wyntoun, on St Serf’s Island in the middle of Loch Leven 400 years before Shakespeare was born.
