Synopsis
Radio broadcast. As part of BBC Radio 3’s Stoppard season, this edition Night Waves Landmarks examines the merits of Tom Stoppard’s play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead 40 years after stage premiere. Presenter Matthew Sweet talks to novelist Lawrence Norfolk, Shakespeare scholar Michael Dobson, and theatre critic Susannah Clapp about its relationship to Shakespeare’s Hamlet, and the director of the very first production, Derek Goldby.
