- Synopsis
- Feature film. Robert Hyde, the victim of an automobile accident, meets Clarice. Despite his vow never to marry he falls in love with her and they do marry. His strong commitment to hunting and fishing is a threat to their relationship and Clarice is advised by her priest to have children to save the marriage. Later, Mrs Grosvenor, her aunt, organises a large party on the Hyde estate. One activity during the group’s visit is a charity production of Othello in which Clarice plays Desdemona and Count Vinzaglio plays Othello. The love scene causes Hyde to dream of himself as Othello, killing his wife out of jealousy and then committing suicide. When he discovers that Vinzaglio is really trying to seduce his wife he is more attentive and she eventually becomes pregnant.
