Glastonbury Past and Present

Synopsis
Interest film, in five parts, based on the Glastonbury pageant of 1922. Episode one shows the arrival of Joseph of Arimathea to preach Christianity to British peoples; episode 2 shows King Alfred’s generosity in victory towards the Danes; episode three features King Edward, the Black Prince and an accident to a young Jewish boy; episode four shows the Tor Fair at the time of Queen Elizabeth, including a drama about a girl dressing as a boy so that she can be employed on the same farm as her lover, and a morality play watched by William Shakespeare and friends; in the final episode Jack returns from the Colonies to join his foster parents at the Michaelmas Fair, he also takes part in the town pageant.
