- Television advertisement for Bird’s Eye ‘Cod in Mushroom Sauce’. June Whitfield, as Anne Hathaway, affecting a Warwickshire accent worries about Will (Terry-Thomas) who is struggling to find a title for his new play. In her tudor kitchen she prepares Bird’s Eye ‘Cod in Mushroom Sauce’ remembering that Will has always said ‘to thine own self be true’. She brings the meal to the living quarters where her husband awaits his dinner. Shakespeare enquires if it was made by her own fair hand. His wife replies ‘it’s as you like it, Will’. Struck by the phrase as a potential play title Will says ‘Good show, verily my Anne. My Anne hath a way with words’.
