- Synopsis
- Radio broadcast. Presenter Jane Little interviews the Jewish playwright Julia Pascal about her adaptation of The Merchant of Venice at the Arcola Theatre in London. In Pascal’s version, holocaust survivor Sarah (Ruth Posner, who is herself a Warsaw ghetto survivor) comes across a performance of the play in Venice, something that creates ‘a double ghetto effect’.
