- Reviews
- Ball, Robert Hamilton. Shakespeare on Silent Film: A Strange Eventful History. London: George Allen and Unwin, 1968 (p.177). Ball writes’ Grete Berger, who played Puck, presented that character with lickerish leers. In short, the playful fantasy of Shakespeare must have become a grotesquerie with sensual implications, and quite possibly a gross and nasty distortion, ill met by moonlight or any other time’.
