- Synopsis
- Feature film based on Mark Twain’s novel with Mickey Rooney as Huck. Douglas Lanier in Shakespeares After Shakespeare (entry 1120) notes that this is the only film version of Twain’s novel which includes the burlesque of Romeo and Juliet. Rooney plays Juliet in the balcony scene to Walter Connolly’s Romeo. Romeo accidentally pulls the balcony down and Juliet, advertised as Mrs Sarah Siddons of London, is revealed as a boy.
