Synopsis
A thirteen-part television series, presented by Richard Ouzounian, on the history of the Stratford (Ontario) Shakespeare Festival. Episode 3 looks at Stratford’s growth during these years. Zoe Caldwell discusses her role as Cleopatra and her chemistry with Christopher Plummer. Alan Bates talks about being the first actor to follow Alec Guinness in the role of Richard III. The actors also discuss director John Hirsch whose experiences as an Hungarian Jew during World War II gave his work a dark side.
