- Synopsis
- Using an interactive format created by BT, online education partner of the National Theatre, the website gives audiences (and particularly young people who are studying Henry V as part of the national curriculum) the opportunity to study the play with special emphasis on Nicholas Hytner’s production with Adrian Lester as Henry. There is a plot synopsis, lesson and workshop ideas, rehearsal diaries, and interviews with actors and directors. Students can study themes from the play (e.g. women, nationality and race, kingship, images of war) and there are numerous streamed video clips to shape and inform the narrative. Directed by Martin Percy for BT; creative director for the National Theatre’s Stagework is Peter Reynolds. The video editing and projection in the production were designed by Mesner.
